atheists & Christians, what do you think of the Bible prophesying that the Jews would be scattered worldwide?
if you won’t bother reading all i have written DON’T BOTHER ANSWERING! (sorry that it’s so much, but it’s interesting)
Prophecy 1 (The Jews would be scattered worldwide):
Bible passage: Deuteronomy 28:64
Written: perhaps 1400 BC
Fulfilled: 721 BC, 586 BC, 70 AD, 135 AD and THE PRESENT
"And Jehovah will certainly scatter you among all the peoples from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, and there you will have to serve other gods whom you have not known…"
In modern times, Jews have migrated to the Americas, South Africa, and Australia. The Jewish population of Central and Eastern Europe, until World War II the largest in the world, was decimated in the Holocaust. Despite the creation of the state of Israel in 1948, the vast majority of the Jewish people remains in the Diaspora, notably in North America, Russia, and Ukraine.
Prophecy 2 (The Jews would face many disasters and difficulties):
Bible passage: Deuteronomy 31:16-17
Written: perhaps 1400 BC
Fulfilled: Throughout history
"…And the Lord said to Moses: "You are going to rest with your fathers, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them. On that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I will hide my face from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters and difficulties will come upon them, and on that day they will ask, `Have not these disasters come upon us because our God is not with us?’ "
There are also prophecies about how the nation of Israel will be partitioned by other nations (e.g. the dispute between Israel and Palestine), about how much the Jews will have a major impact on the rest of the world etc.
SO ATHEISTS AND CHRISTIANS ALIKE, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Many historical events have been predicted by other people and sources; but the sheer volume of events the Bible has predicted is to say the least, profound. I think the Bible is a wonderful piece of literature not only for Christians but for all people; you can overlook the faith stuff and read the history and learn the moral lessons.
The men/women who wrote it we’re intelligent enough to see the world around them unfold and know why. I suppose that this could be evidence for some form of divine inspiration.

tl;dr.
Lolol!!
Okay, seriously: Can you name any religion whose adherents aren’t all over the place? I don’t think much at all of any ‘prophecies’, biblical or not.

That can be said about any group of people. Globalisation has allowed multiculturalism to become a part of many nations.

Paranoia… Who cares if they’re scattered worldwide? I’m more worried about those Mexicans and the Burrito conspiracies.
Punky (Irrepressible) | Jun 12, 2009
Wow, another vague, generalizing prophecy came true, should I be kneeling?
A Modest Proposal | Jun 12, 2009
I think anyone with half a brain can figure out that people move around.
Oh wow guess what, the Chinese are scattered too…it is prophesy, yes?
Queen Of Yack | Jun 12, 2009
I think many peoples have spread across the globe and all peoples experience disasters. To be honest, that’s not much of a prophecy.
serf | Jun 12, 2009
EVERY nation or people that existed at 1400 BC is today scattered, non-existent, or absorbed into other nations
EVERY nation or people that existed at 1400 BC has faced many disasters and difficulties by now.
Come on, you can do better.
NaturalBornKieler | Jun 12, 2009
indeed they are scattered id be surprised if anyone argued that! if anyone argues it they simply have an evil agenda.
also God said he is able to Raise from ROCKS descendents of Abraham if He wishes.. so therefore to be a "spiritual Jew" or one raised from a rock so to speak.. is one who believes in Christ…. and has become "grafted " into the Jewish tree so to speak as Bible says… and participating in the"adoption" of sons.
what to do? | Jun 12, 2009
Nonsense.
That?s not a prophecy but a threat, and not written in 1400 BC but during the Babylonian exile.
Leonard | Jun 12, 2009
I predict another war will occur and people will spread out all along the globe!!
Am I prophet now or is it that I understand basics about humans?
meissen97 | Jun 12, 2009
It shows that God allows us free will, and he can foresee the actions of all people. Don’t know if this is exactly the answer, but it is what struck me.
